“One
of the MUST SEE bands in the Southeast” — Action & Adventure
Magazine
Based in Memphis, Deep Shag has become one of the most popular bands
in the Southeast, with over 200 shows a year for the last two years. A
semi-finalist in the 2003
Grammy Showcase, they were recently picked (out of 1200 entrants) for Disc
Makers’ Independent
Music World Series Heavy Hitters compilation. With their all-original CD Rug
Burn, they are getting bookings and radio play from Key West to Boston.
Deep Shag has shared the stage with numerous national stars, including Everclear,
Maroon 5, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Warrant, The Georgia Satellites, and more.
They’ve also performed at supporting dates for the legendary Parliament
Funkadelic, thanks to their friendship with funk guru George Clinton, who is
featured on two songs on Rug Burn.
Deep Shag’s sound blends elements of many influences—70’s
hard rock, recent pop, classic R&B—to create a sound that is hard
to classify, groundbreaking, and fresh, yet somehow familiar. The common
thread in all of the music is vocalist Manda Marsh, who will command you
with her powerful emotional effect and aggressive vocal style. Deep Shag
is totally self-contained and travels with a first-class sound system and
light show. This high-energy, cutting-edge band is professional, versatile — and
perfect for your next event!
“This ain’t no over pimped, bleached blonde…she’s
got something to say!” — George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic
“Quickly making a name for themselves through their rocking energy!” — Party
Source Magazine

West Citizen
